BREA Town Hall Meeting on the (BL&P) Storage Application to the Fair Trading Commission

The Barbados Renewable Energy Association (BREA) hosted on Thursday October 5th, 2017 at the St. Michael School Hall a Town Hall Meeting to engage the public on the recent BL&P cost recovery storage application to the Fair-Trading Commission.

The Town Hall Meeting featured a panel discussion which included Mr. Aidan Rogers, President of the Barbados Renewable Energy Association, Mr. Stephen Worme, General Manager of Williams Solar and Ms. Felicia Cox, a notable energy expert. Mr. Hallam Hope served as the panel moderator for the Town Hall Meeting.

The main aim of the Town Hall Meeting was to sensitize the public on the BL&P Application. Engaging them on what the application means in-terms of the integration of storage in the country’s energy and renewable energy agenda. In-addition to educating our communities on the short to long-term implications of such an application to the average Barbadian as a customer of the Barbados Light and Power Company.

The Town Hall Meeting also facilitated a number of notable discussions with a wide cross section and diverse views raised on the application.
