Given the growing importance and international recognition of Disaster and or Climate Risk Management in the global discussion on climate change and the renewable energy. BREA with the support of our international funding partners and local support agencies have commence work towards the creation of an Integrated Climate Risk Management Roadmap for the country’s renewable energy sector. Another critical support tool coming out of this project is the creation of a Financial and Insurance Sector Tool Kit.
The high -level meeting facilitated a process where our development partners were able to engage directly with key Ministerial Heads on the overall project, its scope and anticipated outcomes. Special mentioned must be made of the Project Steering Committee which included representatives from the Department of Emergency Management, the Ministry of Energy, the Ministry of Environment and the General Insurance Association of Barbados.
